Avis and Volkswagen making dreams come true
As part of a longstanding relationship with Volkswagen, Avis donated a Volkswagen Polo Vivo to Reach For A Dream Foundation on Tuesday 21 October. The vehicle will be used to help the foundation fulfill the dreams of children between the ages of 3 and 18 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
For 26 years the Reach For A Dream Foundation has brought hope and joy to South African children through their 7 national projects namely; Queen For A Day, Captain Courage, Jabulani Kingdom, Camp Sunshine, Show You Care Send A Bear and Family Focus.
Avis’ involvement with Reach For A Dream began in July this year when they treated 10 children to golf lessons by qualified PGA professionals at the World of Golf.
Keith Rankin, Chief Executive at Avis Rent a Car Southern Africa said, “Avis believes in the great work that Reach For A Dream
does and we are elated that we can play a part in fulfilling dreams of the youth of our nation. We have been partners with VW for
over 40 years and are grateful for their involvement and coming on board with us to invest in this great cause.”
“As Volkswagen we want to be recognised as a company with meaning and impact in everything we do. Our joint initiative with our partner Avis to assist the Reach For A Dream Foundation with a Volkswagen Polo Vivo for their projects, symbolises our mutual commitment to helping credible organisations that are making a significant difference in our society. We are confident that the Polo Vivo sedan will enable the foundation to continue inspiring hope to all the people it touches,” adds Petra Hoffmann, Director of Sales and Marketing Volkswagen Group South Africa.
“We at the Reach For A Dream Foundation are really privileged to engage with a significant number of “Superbrands” and in turn with the key players and decision makers who manage them. Some Chief Executives are wonderfully grounded and recognise that they have the ability to make a real difference, not only in the lives of their own staff, but within the broader community too,” says Mervyn Serebro, Chairman of Reach For A Dream Foundation.
“Avis is, and always has been, a brand with soul and they "don't even have to try harder". Thank you Avis and VW for enriching the lives of our children,” concludes Serebro.
